Add baby food to the growing list of food recalls, and this time it's due to glass rather than a bacterial contamination. In addition, Beech-Nut has recalled over 1,920 pounds of baby food due to glass fragments found in the containers. The following product is affected in the recall:
- Stage 2 Beech-Nut classics sweet potato and chicken
The recalled food was shipped nationwide to larger stores such as Kroger, Walmart, and Meijer, and includes the number P-68A on the jars with the expiration date of December 2016. The USDA sent out a message to all of the major grocery chains around the United States informing of the recall. Thus far there has only been one injury reported with the recall. A consumer found a small piece of glass in a jar of baby food, which cut the mouth of a baby, and thus prompted the recall. To learn more about this recall, please click here.
