Sadly, one of the founding members of the Southern rock band, Lynard Skynyrd has died. Likewise, 64-year-old, Robert Burns Jr. died on Friday in Cartersville, Georgia in a single vehicle car crash. The accident happened when Burn's vehicle lost control on a curb, and struck a mailbox and tree. Tragically, Burns was not wearing his seatbelt. No further details about the accident are known, and it is under investigation.
There were five musicians that founded the band, Lynard Skynard, and Burn's was the drummer; he left the band at the height of their success in 1974. After Burns left the group, he continued to play in guest appearances around the U.S. for fun. Burns' early drumming days started out playing in his parent's garage, and that is how many close to him will always remember him. Please click here for more information.
