It seems there's been an increase lately in pedestrian accidents and fatalities in the St. Louis area, and sadly the following is no exception. Tuesday night in St. Louis, Missouri a man was killed in the south end of the city after a MetroBus struck him. In addition, the accident occurred just blocks from the SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital at the corner of Grand and McRee.
The man was attempting to stumble onto the bus as it was pulling away from its stop. Sadly, the man did not make the bus, and fell under the rear tires instead. The unidentified man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. The driver of the MetroBus was even unaware they had struck anyone, and did not stop until they were notified by another vehicle. Following the accident the bus was re-routed while the incident was investigated. The name of the victim has not yet been released, and details around the accident are being investigated.
