The makers of Angry Orchard Cider Company are voluntarily recalling some cases of their hard cider beer. In addition, the bottles of beer are included in the recall:
- 24/12oz
- 12-packs-Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider
- 6-packs-Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider
The recall comes on the heels of several calls the company received from consumers that encountered broken bottles or bottles that overflowed after being opened. The reason for the recall safety concern is due to the cider showing signs of re-fermentation inside the bottle, which could increase carbonation levels making the glass to burst under the pressure.
Although the potentially combustible bottles pose a safety concern if they burst, the cider is okay to be consumed. Currently Angry Orchard is working with stores to help remove the recalled bottles as soon as possible.
