An auto accident on Interstate 270 resulted in one fatality on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 47-year-old Duc H. Duong of Fenton was operating a 2015 Hyundai Accent on northbound I-270 when a 2011 Chevrolet Express van had reduced speed due to debris on the roadway. At approximately 3:40 p.m., Duong collided with the rear of the van near Interstate 55. The impact was severe, forcing the Hyundai off the roadway and it collided with a guardrail. Emergency crews transported Duong to the hospital where he was pronounced dead approximately 30 minutes after the crash. The driver of the Chevy, a 21-year-old male, was not injured in the accident. The accident is under investigation.
Rear-end accidents are just one of the many types of auto accidents that occur each year. Single-vehicle accidents, truck accidents, SUV rollovers, head-on collisions, and motorcycle accidents are a few examples of auto accidents that can cause injuries and fatalities. Traffic accidents happen so frequently that if you have not been involved in one, you are likely to be at some point in the future. Victims of car accidents often suffer injuries ranging from minor to life-altering, and in the worst cases, the injuries can be fatal. If you have been injured in an auto accident, you may have grounds to file an auto accident case.
