A pedestrian accident happened on the Las Vegas strip causing nearly 40 people to suffer injuries and one confirmed fatality. The accident happened on Sunday evening when a female driver accelerated her vehicle and struck multiple pedestrians along S. Las Vegas Boulevard, according to witnesses. One individual claims the woman had both hands on the steering wheel as she drove her vehicle up onto the sidewalk and ran over people without reducing speed or stopping. At this point, authorities do not know if the driver accidentally or intentionally struck the pedestrians, but the woman is currently in police custody. Investigators will attempt to perform tests to determine if the driver was intoxicated or suffering a medical condition. Latest reports indicate that 37 individuals were harmed, seven of which are in critical condition, and one individual has been pronounced dead. The Las Vegas Police Department is investigating the accident.
