On Friday evening, a pedestrian accident resulted in the death of a man and authorities have charged the driver with drugged driving. According to Stoughton Police, the driver, 33-year-old Michael Burns was operating his 2006 Chevy Malibu on Route 27 when he struck 71-year-old Joseph Brady Jr. at approximately 8:35 p.m. Burns remained at the scene of the accident, and soon after police began speaking to him, they determined he was under the influence of drugs. Brady was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he died later that night from the injuries he sustained in the accident. Burns was charged with driving under the influence and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
