In Pompano Beach, Florida, a Broward Sheriff’s Office detention deputy was part of a fatal pedestrian accident. In addition, the fatal pedestrian accident happened Tuesday morning around 4a.m. when the deputy was returning to work from a break. Likewise, Deputy Timothy Rolle struck the pedestrian with his vehicle at the 2100 block of 31st Avenue.
The pedestrian that was stuck was identified as 60-year-old, Jerome Byrd. According to witnesses, Byrd was not near a crosswalk or intersection when he was stuck. Sadly, Byrd died on the scene. Rolle was not injured in the crash.
