The group of student athletes were traveling in a Chevy Tahoe traveling
on SR-142. The Tahoe encountered a stop sign and subsequently pulled out
in the intersection. However, the Tahoe was struck by an eighteen wheeler
causing a serious car accident. The tractor trailer attempted to evade
the Tahoe, but was unsuccessful. As a result, it struck the side of the
SUV, thereby pushing the Tahoe nearly 100 yards into a yard of residence.
Four of the occupants are football players for Utah State, one of which
is from St. Louis, and the other occupant is a Utah State softball student athlete.
The occupants of the Tahoe were taken to a local hospital via ambulance.
As the responding police officer reported, these individuals are lucky
to be alive after being t-boned by a tractor trailer.
