In Owasso, Oklahoma a police officer’s body camera captures a mother’s reaction after learning she had left her 1-year-old child in a hot car. Furthermore, the woman left her daughter in her van, which was parked at Wal-Mart where temperatures reached nearly 100 degrees, and had 53 to 63 percent humidity.
The child endangerment incident happened Tuesday night when Hannah Secondi parked her car, and went inside. A couple passing by Secondi’s car heard something coming from inside the van, and discovered it was a baby. After finding an unlocked door, the couple rescued the sweat drenching child and called 911.
When police arrived, Secondi came outside to find what she had done. Police body camera then caught Secondi’s gut wrenching sobs during the incident. It is not known how long Secondi was inside Walmart, but she was with at least one person. Therefore, there is no reason the child was accidently left alone in the car. Secondi was detained and will be charged with child neglect. The child is in the care of the father.
