In Mansfield, Ohio a Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy has involved in a dog bite accident Thursday morning. Deputy Stacy Dittrich was bit by the dog after she responding to official business at 129 Blymer Ave, and was attempting to make contact with someone at the residence. After Dittrich received no answer at the door, she began to knock and hear sounds at the rear of the house.
Dittrich then assumed the residents of the house were in the backyard, and began to walk to the back when she encountered a pit bull. Furthermore, the pit bull bit Dittrich on her left hand and pinky finger in the attack. The owner of the dog pulled the dog back as Dittrich ran to a safe location and called for help. The visibly shaken owner of the dog offered Dittrich assistance on her hand until medics arrived. The owner of the dog was cited for multiple charges including having a pit bull in city limits, and failure to maintain a vicious dog.
