It seems to be an occurring trend in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri that grabbing ladders in the water are electrocuting people. In addition, a man from East Moline, Illinois was also electrocuted Sunday after he touched a dock ladder. Likewise, 21-year-old, Marcus Colburn was swimming at night at the Woods Hollow Cove near the Osage arm of the lake when he was shocked and killed.
The electrocution accident occurred happened when Colburn was using the ladder to get out of the water and was shocked. Colburn then fell back into the water face down. Sadly, Colburn was pronounced dead an hour later at a nearby hospital. At the time of the accident, Colburn was with another minor that was swimming with him. The swimmer was treated for minor injuries. The cause of the swimming accident is currently under investigation.
