Although police dogs are supposed to help, one Massachusetts K-9 had another idea. Furthermore, a Holbrook police dog named, Bo was fenced behind the home of his handler, Joshua Knowlton, but somehow got free. Likewise, after Bo broke free, he attacked a 15-year-old boy and his mom. At the time of the incident, the boy was swinging a baseball bat, and Bo took the swinging motion as aggression. Bo ended up biting the boy several times; on the thigh, ankle, and buttocks.
The boys mother was bitten when she stepped outside to stop the attack on her son. The son was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. William Smith, Police Chief is now making changes to make sure something like this does not happen again. Bo has been a part of the departments K-9 unit for three years, and from this point on will be muzzled when he’s outside.
