Tragically, three pedestrians, two of whom were children, were killed in Chicago following a fatal accident involving a semi truck. In addition, the heart breaking pedestrian accident happened Friday evening in the Back of the Yards neighborhood at the 4300 block of South Ashland Avenue in Illinois. Likewise, the 23-year-old semi driver, Zachary Barngrover failed to yield at a pedestrian crosswalk, and also made an improper left turn on a two-way road; he has been cited with both charges.
Sadly, 30-year-old, Elizabeth Peralta-Luna, nine-year-old, Elizabeth, and four-year-old, Dylan all died in the accident. A couple inside a nearby doughnut shop witnessed the horrific accident. Furthermore, the couple saw mother and the children holding hands as they crossed the street just before they were struck. The truck dragged the mother, and one child was pinned beneath a wheel. To onlookers, it appeared the semi driver didn't notice the mom and her children crossing the street.
