As a grandfather took his three grandchildren for a walk, along with a relative, the five of them were struck by a vehicle in Florence, Kentucky. The man was pulling his twin grandchildren in a wagon along the shoulder of Weaver Road when a Chevy Malibu hit and killed the man and the twins, and injured the other child and woman. The accident occurred at approximately 12:25 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The vehicle had veered onto the shoulder of the roadway, striking the five pedestrians.
The driver of the accident stopped immediately and other good Samaritans also stopped to provide any assistance to the victims. The 13-month-old twins and their 49-year-old grandfather were pronounced dead at the scene. The other victims were transported to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
