Sadly on Thursday a mom chose to drive under the influence of alcohol, and in the process struck a pedestrian. In addition, 38-year-old, Cerisse Bomarsi was driving her van with her children inside while she was drinking an open container of alcohol; a 6-month-old boy, and 6-year-old girl. Likewise, at the corner of Main and Winthrop Street Bomarsi hit 62-year-old, Susan Taylor with her car. As a result, Taylor was thrown about 40 feet up in the air, and landed underneath a parked vehicle on the side of the road.
Luckily, although Taylor was injured in the accident, she is expected to make a full recovery. Just prior to the accident, 9-1-1 responders received a call of a Honda Odyssey swerving in and out of traffic on Main Street. When police arrived on the scene following the accident, many small bottles of alcohol were inside the van. Now, Bomarsi faces charges such as: operating under the influence, operating to endanger, open container violations, and two counts of child endangerment. It's a miracle Bomarsi's children were uninjured in the ordeal.
