Singer-songwriter, Norman Greenbaum was critically injured in a car crash in Northern California on Sunday when the vehicle he was in hit a motorcycle. In addition, the accident happened near a Santa Rosa intersection when the vehicle did not yield to oncoming traffic and as a result struck the motorcycle; there were no stop signs at the intersection.
Sadly, 20-year-old motorcycle rider, Usama Halaweh died from his injuries at the scene. The at-fault driver of the vehicle was unharmed, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected as a factor in the crash. Greenbaum's condition is still critical, and family members are requesting privacy during this time. Greenbaum rose to rock fame with his 1969 song "Spirit in the Sky" which is still being used for movies and commercials to this day. To learn more about this developing story, please click here.
