Interstate 80, which is just east of the Quad Cities, was slowed in both directions Thursday due to two accidents that involved semi trucks. In addition, one crash overturned a tractor-trailer, which blocked the westbound lanes just near Princeton, Illinois. Likewise, another crash happened a mile from Annawan, Illinois, and occurred when a tractor-trailer hit another eastbound semi as it was merging onto I-80 from Illinois 78. As a result, the rear of the merging semi was hit by the front of the eastbound truck. It was not reported whether or not anyone was injured in either crash. Although traffic was blocked in both directions for sometime, it was reopened several hours later.
