Keeping your child safe is your top priority, and also making sure products you use are safe can sometimes be a concern as well. In addition, two baby safety gates, and a child’s toy have just been recalled because they pose certain safety hazards. The baby gates that are recalled were bold sold from IKEA nationwide and online. The sale dates were August 1995-February, 2015 starting around $35.
The safety concern surrounding the gates is that the tension between the wall and pressure-mounted safety gauge is not sufficient to hold the product in its place. Therefore, the gate can collapse with pressure applied to it thus causing a fall hazard for young children. Likewise, the lower metal bar on the gate has been shown to be a tripping hazard as well. IKEA is urging parents to stop using the gate, and return it for a full refund.
The child’s toy called the Police Press, and Go Toy Vehicle were also recalled Tuesday. The toy is recalled because the hat on the policeman’s head can come off and causes a choking hazard for children. The toy was sold nationwide from April 2010-April 2015 at various specialty shops for around $5. Please click here to find out more.
