A semi truck crashed and caused a large fire Wednesday near Roseville, Minnesota. In addition, the accident happened on Interstate 35W when the semi lost control in the southbound lane. As a result, the semi went into the median and hit a pole attached to a highway sign.
Following the crash, the semi then burst into flames and had billowing black smoke that could be seen for miles. Customers and workers at a nearby business helped pull the 44-year-old semi driver, Alfie Foster to safety. Although Foster was badly burned, he is expected to survive. The near-fatal crash closed the southbound lanes from Highway 36 to County Road D for hours while crews extinguished the flames. An investigation is pending into how Foster lost control of his semi.
