Social media has been bombarded with outraged viewers sharing a video of a young girl being dragged by a school bus. The incident happened as the 7-year-old girl was exiting the bus on Friday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky. As she began to step out of the bus, her backpack became trapped in the doors and the driver of the bus drove away, unaware that the child was being dragged. The video is from a surveillance camera located on one of the homes at the accident scene. Authorities stated the bus dragged the girl approximately 100 feet before being stopped by another vehicle. Witnesses disagree with the distance and believe it was much further. The girl was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Jefferson County Public School officials and the Louisville Police Department are investigating the bus accident. The school district has not made a public comment regarding the tragic incident.
