Wednesday in New Melle, Missouri a head-on collision between two vehicles left four people injured. In addition, the accident happened on Route T north of Lippold Lane on the two-lane highway. Likewise, the accident started when one vehicle that was traveling south tried to pass another; the driver crossed over the centerline.
As a result, the driver that was trying to pass hit another vehicle in the northbound lane. A 72-year-old and 66-year-old were injured and airlifted to a nearby hospital in serious condition. Two other 19-year-olds in the other vehicle were also injured and suffered moderate injuries. It was not reported which passengers were in which vehicle.
In an unrelated crash, a semi truck overturned in Jefferson County, MO on Highway 67 and I-55. Hazmat crews were sent to the crash scene to clean up because powdered ammonium nitrate was spilled all over the roadway due to the semi crash.
