Motorcycle Accident Kills Woman

|

A 58-year-old woman died on Monday after a car collided with her motorcycle. The woman was struck while an 82-year-old woman attempted to make a left turn onto Grand Boulevard from southbound Weber Road in Romeoville, Illinois. Authorities responded to that accident that occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m. Both drivers were transported to the hospital where the motorcyclist was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was released after receiving treatment for minor injuries. She received citations for failure to yield. Romeoville police are continuing to investigate the accident.

As summer approaches, motorcyclists are taking advantage of the warmer weather by being more present on the roadways. Their size and exposure make motorcyclists vulnerable to serious accidents, especially involving other vehicles. All drivers are required to be aware of their surroundings and must devote their full attention to operating their vehicle. Many accidents occur due to the negligence of another driver. If you have been injured or have lost a loved one, contacting a motorcycle accident lawyer is important to hold the negligent driver responsible and to recover compensation.
