An elderly couple from Illinois were involved in a serious auto accident on Saturday. The accident happened in Earth City, Missouri at approximately 1:30 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 77-year-old Lawrence Reeves was operating a Chrysler 300 when he attempted to exit from Interstate 70 onto northbound Highway 141. As Reeves took the exit, he turned the wrong way into the path of oncoming traffic. A semi-truck driven by 38-year-old Christopher Tryon attempted to avoid the collision, but was unsuccessful, and the impact forced the truck off the roadway. Tryon was uninjured in the accident, but Reeves and his 76-year-old passenger, Laveeda Reeves were both transported by ambulance to the hospital. Laveeda was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, and Lawrence sustained moderate injuries.
