A motorcycle accident claimed the lives of two men during the early hours on Saturday. The accident occurred at around 3 a.m. in Tampa, Florida. According to authorities, two men were traveling on the same motorcycle southbound along Jones Avenue North. The driver of the motorcycle lost control of the vehicle after hitting a pothole. Both riders were ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released until their families can be notified. Tampa police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, and are continuing to investigate the crash.
Every year there are thousands of motorcycle accidents that claim lives and seriously injure people. While some individuals consider motorcycles to be a dangerous way to travel, if handled responsibly, they are just as safe as any other motor vehicle. However, auto accidents involving motorcycles often result in more injuries or fatalities due to the openness of the vehicle. Passenger vehicles offer somewhat of a protection to drivers and passengers because they are enclosed. Most motorcyclists operate their vehicles properly, and while there are some accidents that are caused by their recklessness, motorcycle accidents can be caused by numerous factors. If you have been injured or lost a loved one in a motorcycle accident, it is important to consult an experienced St. Louis motorcycle accident lawyer.
