The St. Louis Metropolitan Police are investigating a multi-vehicle auto accident that occurred Thursday night. Witnesses claim that a Chevrolet Monte Carlo was traveling southbound on Hall Street when a Dodge Stratus ran a red light and t-boned the Chevrolet at the intersection of Hall and Gimblin Streets. According to police, two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, and two others were seriously injured and transported to the hospital. Police are investigating the accident and do not believe that drag racing caused the crash.
Despite traffic laws being implemented and enforced, negligent and reckless driving causes thousands of car accidents every year. Aggressive driving and speeding, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and distracted driving are all examples of negligent driving that inflict injuries and death upon innocent victims. Individuals injured, or families that lose loved ones, in auto accidents will likely incur medical bills, funeral expenses, loss of economic support, and emotional damages. If a negligent driver caused your accident, you may be entitled to compensation for your damages.
