Thursday afternoon on the south side of Chicago, Illinois was deadly after amulti-car crash killed one driver and injured three more. Furthermore, the car crash happened at the 5400 block of south Austin Avenue when a vehicle that was speeding blew through a red light, and hit several other cars near the Garfield Ridge subdivision.
The driver of the vehicle that ran the red light was killed at the scene. According to witnesses, the driver’s body was still inside the vehicle as it was being towed away to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. All in all, 12 vehicles were involved in the fatal car crash, and three were sent to nearby hospitals with unknown injuries. Thus far police are unsure if drugs or alcohol were factors in the car crash, and the driver is yet to be identified.
