Tragically known and often reaped, seatbelts can save lives in the event of a
car crash, and especially when it involves a semi-truck. Sadly a California man
died as a result of a fatal semi crash on Monday morning. In addition,
62-year-old, Frederick Brooks of Sacramento died after he struck the rear
end of a semi with his car.
The accident happened on Interstate 80 near the top of the Emigrant Summit
in Carlin, Nevada. At the time of the semi crash Brooks was attempting
to change lanes when he struck the back of the truck. According to police
there were no brake marks from Brooks’ car, and he was not wearing
a seatbelt at the time of the semi crash. 65-year-old, James Apgar, the
driver of the semi was injured in the crash.
