Tragically a former Tennessee linebacker was killed Sunday morning in a
fatal one-vehiclecar accident. Furthermore, the car crash that killed Daniel Brooks happened in Clinton
on North Charles Sevier’s Boulevard early in the morning when his
vehicle flipped several times after hitting a driveway. Brooks died at
the scene.
In addition, Brooks was originally from Jackson, and was a highly anticipated
athlete coming out of Jackson Central-Merry high school. During the 2003
and 2004 Vols season, unfortunately Brooks did not have much of a large
role playing football. Shortly thereafter Brooks was dismissed from the
team and finished his career at Jackson State in Mississippi.
At the time of his death, Brooks was only 31-years-old. The cause of the
car crash is currently under investigation.
