An auto accident happened early Sunday and caused the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 to be closed for several hours. According to St. Louis police, the accident happened at around 1:30 a.m. and involved multiple vehicles. Authorities have not yet given details as to what caused the crash that occurred on I-44 in the eastbound lanes near Grand Avenue. Two individuals were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained, and one is listed in serious condition and the other in critical condition. The eastbound lanes were closed for nearly six hours as police cleared debris and reconstructed the crash.
