In Creve Coeur, Missouri a bicyclist was injured after he was hit by a
St. Louis County Police vehicle. Furthermore, Justin Branson was struck
Sunday night by the police car as he was bicycling on east Olive near
Woodson Road. As a result Branson suffered a fractured his back and bruised
lung after his
bicycle accident.
Likewise, according to Branson he was knocked off of his bicycle and thrown
over the hood to the side of the police vehicle. In addition, Branson
points out he’s no rookie to biking as he had all of his flashing
red lights which were on his backpack at the time of the bicycle accident.
The St. Louis County Police Department has confirmed the damage to the
front right bumper of the cruiser in connection with the bike crash. Additionally,
the department will not comment this early if the officer did anything
wrong or not. Either way it is noted that cyclist safety needs to be improved
in the city as well as additional added bike lanes for travel.
