Sadly a Wilmington, Delaware teen has died following a fatalmotorcycle crash. In addition, the motorcycle crash happened August 26th near the intersection of Andy’s Lane and Grubb Road in Brandywine
Hundred. Furthermore, 19-year-old, Dylan Desmond died Sunday from his
injuries he sustained in the August accident.
At the time of the motorcycle crash, Desmond and another teen were driving
their bikes on the northbound side of Grubb Road when a vehicle headed
west on Andy’s Lane entered the intersection. Desmond was traveling
at a high rate of speed and hit the vehicle. As a result, Desmond was
ejected from the motorcycle and landed in a ditch; his motorcycle caught
fire. The driver of the vehicle and the other teen on the motorcycle were
injured as well but fully recovered.
According to police the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the intersection
and was therefore cited. Likewise, both Desmond and the other teen were
cited as well for speeding and improper registration. The motorcycle crash
remains under investigation.
