Tragically one woman from Tacoma, Washington was killed in a car crash Tuesday while she was in Springfield, Illinois. According to police, 69-year-old, Mary “Skip” Oldfield was killed when a semi truck struck her vehicle. Furthermore, the fatal semi accident happened on Interstate 72 when Oldfield was attempting to merge onto road, and for unknown reasons turned sharply into the path of the semi. As a result, the semi truck hit the driver’s side of the Oldfield’s car. Oldfield’s car then came to a rest in the westbound lane.
50-year-old truck driver, Lonnie Damm was treated and released at a nearby hospital. Oldfield was in Illinois visiting friends.
