Police reported a fatal hit and run accident near Jackson Park on Jackson Avenue that left a gruesome scene. A 52-year-old man was hit by a car as he was crossing Jackson Avenue. Witnesses say the hit-and-run vehicle was a gray Lincoln Navigator. The pedestrian was in extremely critical condition when taken to the hospital where he died. Witnesses reported that the impact was extremely loud and the man’s body was tragically ripped apart. Friends and family said the friendly 52-year-old man lived near the scene of the crash and could be seen often walking in that area. Police are looking for a young suspect described as a light-skinned black man with dreadlocks driving a 2003 or 2004 gray Lincoln Navigator. A witness on the scene at the time of the crash followed the hit-and-run driver but unfortunately lost the vehicle.
