Louisville Cement Worker Killed At Workplace Accident

|

A Kentucky man has been killed in a fatal workplace accident in Louisville this week. The 33-year-old man was an employee at the Louisville cement plant, CEMEX Kosmos Cement Plant. When emergency crews arrived at 15301 Dixie Highway, they were told by plant personnel that a man was caught in a steel cable driven pulley system and was unable to get free. The young male worker was declared dead at the scene of the accident by the Jefferson County Deputy Coroner at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. The cause of death was from multiple injuries. A safety investigation into the workplace accident will be conducted by OSHA.

This is not the first fatal accident at the cement plant. Back in 2014, a 37-year-old woman fell over 60 feet down an elevator shaft. The woman was working with Personal Touch and was a temporary cleaning service worker.
