A product recall has been requested of American Airlines’ for their new flight attendant uniforms. The airline put out new uniforms for their flight attendants a few months ago, and allegedly these uniforms have been the cause of a variety of health problems for those that wear them, including respiratory issues, skin issues, and headaches. These uniforms have been tested by American and the Association of Professional Flight Attendants. There have been 1,600 complaints of health issues by those who have worn these uniforms. However, the airline is not yet issuing a recall, even though they know there have been issues associated with them. They claim that the uniforms “are still safe.” The airline thinks the issue is related to the manufacturing rather than the material of the uniform. Twin Hill, their vendor, has been the target of complaints similar to these in the past.
