A husband and wife in Texas were killed in a motorcycle accident over the weekend. The couple owned a nightclub and after they closed the doors for the evening, they attempted to travel home on their motorcycle. As they drove along U.S. Highway 160, they collided with another vehicle in Copperas Cove. The accident claimed both of their lives and they leave behind a seven-year-old daughter and a 23-year-old son. Authorities have not released the details of the crash including who was responsible.
Motorcycle accidents are often unforgiving, resulting in serious injuries and fatalities. Passenger vehicles offer some protection because the driver and passengers are enclosed. The opposite is true for a motorcyclist and the openness of the vehicle often attracts many individuals. While traffic laws require individuals to obtain a specific driver’s license to operate a motorcycle, it does not prevent a motorcyclist from driving recklessly. However, dangerous roadways and the negligence of other drivers are common factors of motorcycle accidents and all negligent parties should be held accountable. An experienced motorcycle accident attorney can help you determine if you have grounds to file an auto accident case.
