A two-vehicle car accident resulted in the death of two men on Monday. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred in Lee’s Summit when a man was operating a vehicle and traveling northbound when he attempted to pass another northbound vehicle. As a southbound vehicle approach, the driver attempted to return to the northbound lane but lost control and slid sideways. The southbound vehicle then collided with that vehicle resulting in the death of two individuals. Two other people were taken to the hospital for injuries they sustained in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
Tragically, thousands of lives are lost in auto accidents every year and the vast majority of these accidents were caused by negligent actions. According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel, 37,000 fatalities are caused in traffic accidents annually. Mechanical defects, dangerous roadways, vehicle design flaws, and reckless driving are all examples of negligence that lead to car accidents. If you have been involved in an auto accident, you likely suffered property damages, injuries, and even death.
