On Sunday morning, a police officer in Rock Hill, Missouri was struck by a vehicle. At around 11:30 a.m., the officer was responding to a call for a suspicious vehicle in the 800 block of Tavalon when he was struck by another vehicle. Shortly after the accident, the driver of the car fled the scene of the accident and then collided with a utility pole on Manchester Road, just a mile from where the officer was hit. The two male occupants in the vehicle fled on foot but were apprehended soon after. The 46-year-old Rock Hill police officer was transported by ambulance to the hospital for serious head trauma. The accident is under investigation.
