Train accidents are responsible for hundreds of serious injuries and fatalities each year. It is no surprise that the massive vehicle can cause severe damage in the event of a collision. Train derailments can cause numerous individuals to sustain injuries and deaths due to the trains ability to transport multiple passengers. However, a collision with a vehicle or pedestrian is a more common type of train accident. Many of these accidents occur at railroad crossings where the driver attempts to beat the train or where there is a lack of warning devices and signals. Other common causes of train accidents include distracted conductors, controllers, mechanical defects, and negligence of the railroad company. If you have been injured or lost a loved one in a train accident, it is imperative to consult a qualified personal injury attorney.
