A semi-truck accident near downtown St. Louis resulted in the fatality of one individual on Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 4:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to an auto accident involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle on Interstate 70. Authorities reported that the vehicle rear-ended the semi-truck near Union Boulevard. One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and another was extricated from the vehicle then transported to the hospital. The cause of the crash is unknown and the accident is under investigation.
