A tragic car accident occurred on Saturday night in Denton, Texas. The accident occurred when a Ford F-350 pickup truck ran a stop light while speeding. As a result, the pickup truck collided into a Nissan minivan, who then collided with two more vehicles in front of it due to the impact. Three children who were riding in the minivan when it was hit were airlifted from the scene of the accident and taken to the hospital. Tragically, two of those three children passed away. According to police, not one of the children who were in the minivan were wearing a seatbelt or were in a car seat. Speeding is an issue that is a contributing factor in 33% of all fatal accidents. When a driver speeds, the amount of reaction time their vehicle will need to respond to the brakes increases. This puts drivers at a higher risk of being involved in a collision. To avoid injuries and accidents, always follow the speed limit for the area you are driving in.
