Every year in the United States, the lives of nearly 5,000 individuals are claimed in pedestrian accidents and thousands more are injured. In urban areas, there is a large number of pedestrians that choose to walk to their destinations for exercise and prevent pollution. The large number of pedestrians increases the chance of an accident. Motorists should always focus on their surroundings to avoid a pedestrian accident from happening. Unfortunately, thousands of pedestrian accidents are caused by distracted driving, fatigued driving, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and speeding. If you have been injured in a pedestrian accident, you could be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and emotional damages.
