An electric lineman was seriously injured in a work-related accident on Thursday night. The accident happened in Rantoul, Illinois at approximately 8:30 p.m. Marvin Scherbring, 56, and two other workers were attempting to restore power during an outage due to a transformer failure. Scherbring suffered serious burns and was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He has been employed with the village of Rantoul, as a lineman, for more than 30 years. Scherbring remains hospitalized and the accident is being investigated.
