A DUI accident during the early hours of Saturday claimed the life of a professional off-road motorcycle racer. The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner’s Office confirmed that 22-year-old Steven Kirk was killed when a vehicle he was traveling in crashed. The vehicle, a blue sedan, veered off the roadway close to Pico Canyon Road and Stevenson Ranch Parkway around 2:18 a.m. The driver of the vehicle was arrested after the accident and DUI is suspected.
On average there are 28 families that lose their loved ones in a DUI accident each day in the United States, according to Mother’s Against Drunk Driving. While everyone will face the devastating event of the death of a loved one, when a preventable accident causes that unexpected death, it is heartbreaking. Drivers guilty of causing a DUI accident will face criminal consequences and should also be held responsible by contacting an experienced DUI accident attorney.
