On Saturday, three separate auto accidents in Illinois sent five people to the hospital with serious injuries. The accidents occurred on Interstate 72 near Champaign. The first accident involved two vehicles and resulted in 63-year-old Laurie Rumery and 67-year-old Leonard Rumery being extricated from their vehicle. They were seriously injured and transported to the hospital. Several minutes later at 12:30 p.m., a head-on collision injured two individuals near the Interstate 57 interchange.
