In preparation for Independence Day, the National Council on Fireworks Safety reminds consumers to follow all safety procedures before using fireworks in their backyard. The NCFC has a few tips as the holiday weekend begins. Before even purchasing fireworks, the NCFC encourages consumers to purchase fireworks from only reputable companies as well as check local and state laws for fireworks use in your city. The NCFC urges everyone to resist setting off their rockets or firecrackers in the towns that do not allow fireworks. Consumers should review all instructions on fireworks’ labeling before use.
The fireworks manufactory has made great strides in bettering firework quality in order to reduce injuries. However, that does not mean there is not still work to be done. The misuse of fireworks sends hundred to the emergency room each year with fireworks-related injuries. Underage use of fireworks in videos is responsible for many serious injuries, and NCFC asks parents to help stop the use of fireworks in viral videos. The NCFC will continue to educate people with life-saving information so the U.S. can safely celebrate Independence Day.
