Springfield police were busy with two unconnected rollover traffic accidents, only minutes apart, on Saturday evening. According to police, officers were called to Fremont Avenue and Pythian at 6:41 p.m., after an Isuzu Trooper rolled after colliding with a parked car. The driver’s arm was crushed when the vehicle overturned and he was pinned. The driver was rescued and transported to a nearby hospital and treated for a moderate arm injury.
Just minutes later, police were called to another rollover crash at the intersection of Chestnut Expressway and Fremont Avenue, at 6:45 p.m. According to police, three vehicles were involved in a crash that caused another car to overturned. Four people were trapped inside the overturned car, and emergency responders worked to get them all freed. All four people were transported to the hospital and received medical treatment for only minor injuries. Police will continue their investigation of both crashes.
