A young girl has been killed while attending a summer camp in Indiana on Monday night. According to authorities, the 11-year-old girl died from injuries sustained in an accident after a tree fell on her cabin during a storm. Lightning hit the tree overnight at Camp Livingston in Switzerland County. A tree fell on the cabin while the girl slept and emergency responders said she could not survive her injuries. Other campers, as well as three camp counselors, were also asleep in the cabin at the time of the accident but no one else was hurt. Residents in the area said it was one of the worst storms they had ever seen, with heavy lightning and hail. The camp has an affiliation with the Jewish Community Center, who have expressed their deepest sorrows over the loss of the young life. The child’s name has not been released.
