The helper was a surgeon and attempted to stop an arterial bleed. However, the motorcyclist died later at the hospital. Authorities report the motorcyclist rear-ended a van on the northbound lane of Interstate 55 near the 7th street exit on Monday afternoon at approximately 1:45 p.m. The motorcyclist was identified as a 53-year-old man from Fenton, Missouri. The man was the only person injured in the crash.
